Awards for quality and performance
Our products and services have already received numerous awards:
Bosch Global Supplier Award
German Design Award (for Tyrolit Life products)
klimaaktiv-award from the Federal Ministry
Schaeffler Supplier Award
Cerabond X
Setting standards in grinding technology
The Cerabond X product family sets global standards in the quality of ceramic abrasives.
By optimising the combination of high-quality ceramic grain and an advanced bonding concept, we offer a wide range of products that guarantee the highest quality when processing steel and stainless steel. From cutting and grinding discs to sustainable natural fibre discs, we offer solutions for various applications that speed up work processes and increase safety.
Tyrolit Power in the composite industry
Across all industries, there is a high demand for materials that can not only withstand high loads, but can also be used in lightweight construction. We meet these requirements with composite materials, as they have different properties to conventional materials. Of course, innovative materials such as glass, carbon and aramid fibres also bring new challenges.
Our Tyrolit Power assortment has been specially developed for use on composite materials and, unlike conventional tools, offers a longer lifetime and highly efficient machining processes. Our assortment includes tools for cutting edges, grinding, drilling, milling cutter and for the grinding of uneven surfaces on hand-guided machines, semi-automatic robots and high-tech CNC machines.
The evolution of abrasive technology:
ALPHA technology
Our MIRA, STRATO and VIPER grinding wheel series have set standards in precision manufacturing for years. We have further developed these series under the name ALPHA to offer our customers a revolutionary solution for their grinding applications. We are laying down new benchmarks with our in-house manufactured abrasive grain in the form of blue sintered aluminium oxide rods.
The ALPHA products equipped with our grain have improved self-sharpening properties and enable customers to achieve higher removal rates and optimised grinding processes. Our performance in the area of research & development has already resulted in over 500 internationally registered patents. This expertise, coupled with continuous monitoring of the raw materials used, enables us to guarantee the highest qualities and ensure transparent manufacturing processes.
Strengthening e-mobility and thinking ahead
E-mobility and the associated reorganisation of production are presenting car manufacturers with new challenges. The grinding of special components in particular poses special challenges, as the lowest possible shape and position tolerances as well as the best surface finishes are essential for the production of high-tech parts for electric motors. Decades of experience in the automotive industry enable us to act as a competent partner in the transition to e-mobility.
The Euro 7 emissions standard, which will apply from 2025, will drive a significant reduction in particulate matter pollution. In addition, there are regulations for permissible brake wear and tyres, which also affect e-vehicles. Due to these new regulations, new production technologies are needed for the economical and efficient grinding of brake discs. The design of hard-coated brake discs will enable manufacturers to achieve an optimum combination of first-class braking properties and minimal abrasion in the future, which will directly result in a reduction in particulate pollution.
Highest precision for medical technology
An ever ageing society is increasingly focussing on medical technology.
Hip and knee joint operations are already routine procedures. High demands and strict tolerances in the industry require a great deal of experience to ensure consistent quality. With innovative grinding solutions, Tyrolit ensures, for example, that injection needles are sharp and free of microscopic barbs and that patients with new hips can get moving again as quickly as possible. Our tools can speed up the manufacturing process when machining hip joints and grinding knee joints. When machining surgical instruments, Tyrolit also ensures greater safety during medical procedures, for example by sharpening scalpels with cool-ground wheels and finishing them with elastic or fleece-bonded tools to ensure the highest surface quality.
Sustainability and innovation in production
We not only strive for technical progress, but also focus on environmental compatibility in our production processes. By switching to more sustainable materials and more energy-efficient processes, we have not only been able to reduce CO2 emissions, but also improve the qualities and efficiency of our products. With leading technologies like ALPHA, we offer our customers not only technological progress, but also sustainability and efficiency in one product.
