Product Launch of SKYTEC XD-2
Martin Pilz:
Our new SKYTEC XD-2 portfolio is characterised by higher removal rates and reduced wheel wear. This is made possible by the use of new diamond qualities and an innovative vitrified bond. Participants from Germany, Austria and Switzerland were able to gain first-hand information about the wide range of applications and operator benefits. The ongoing trend towards CO2 reduction is promoting lightweight construction in various areas, particularly in aircraft construction and the automotive industry.
As a result, difficult-to-machine materials such as titanium and aluminium base alloys as well as composite materials are being used increasingly. Efficient machining of these materials requires cutting tools that are mounted with super hard materials such as PCD. We therefore expect the demand for these cutting tools to increase substantially, which in turn will boost sales of innovative grinding tools. With the new product line, we want to provide our existing customers with better tools and higher qualities but also attract new customers.
