65 % less plastic – our packaging revolution

Tyrolit proudly presented a remarkable development as part of its ongoing efforts to improve sustainability - in recent months, the company has been able to reduce the amount of material used for plastic packaging by more than 65%.

On the one hand, we can now recycle around 30 per cent of the film we use and, on the other, the new film is thinner and more suitable for packaging thanks to its pre-stretching.

In terms of actual numbers, this means a switch from a 21µm-thick film to a 17µm-thick film, which has also been pre-stretched. In addition to this progress, the company has invested in new packaging machines to support these changes.

This achievement, thanks to the hard work of a highly motivated team, emphasises the company's commitment to environmental protection and customer satisfaction.

This is a good example of the collaborative approach at Tyrolit, where joint efforts bring noticeable benefits for both the environment and customers. Reducing the weight of the wrapping film for a Euro pallet from 0.5kg to 0.15kg is an important part of the commitment to sustainable solutions.

In summary, Tyrolit's packaging optimisation project is a sign of ingenuity and a sense of responsibility.
